The action has been fast and furious the past few weeks, and I have neglected to write reports. Not because it's been bad, however but very exceptional. Early mornings have been producing quality redfish on the flats on most mornings. Small lures like the riptide mud minnow on an 1/8 th ounce jig head has been hard to refuse when sight casting to fish in 12-18 inches of water. Deeper water 2-3 feet have yeilded fish to 34 inches on gold spoons.

Trout to 9 lbs have been active in the low light conditions the past weeks and are crushing topwater lures with a passion. Most of the fish have been in the 3-5lb class.

The windy conditions have made for some challenging casting, but the fish are eating well. We have been averaging 10-12 fish per trip, with the banner day so far of 36 fish to 12 lbs on last thursday.

The water temps are on the rise and the trophy fish are starting to stage. Windy conditions have made opportunities at the larger fish scarce, but when it lays down groups of 75-150 fish are not uncommon.
